“Christian worship demands a whole-life response … everything we do can and should be worship.” Sam Hargreaves
Well that’s a challenge! If you are a regular at Elmwood, you will know that we are about to start a Sunday teaching series entitled “Whole Life Worship”, with Home Groups following the same theme.
Worship is so central to our relationship with God that the Leadership Team feels it’s something we want to learn more about as part of our vision to “Grow Deeper, Closer, Further”.
Usually we think worship is singing or playing music when we gather together on a Sunday. That’s a really important element, but I’m excited about the prospect of being challenged to think about worship as something much bigger.
So, alongside Sunday teaching for the whole fellowship, we are arranging a series of Worship Workshops. If you have an interest or involvement in worship in its broadest sense (music, dance, service leading, visual arts, spoken word, technical support…) then come along and find out more.
Our first workshop will be on Monday evening, 30th April. It will include an introduction to how we are hoping to develop corporate worship at Elmwood and there will be an opportunity to worship together with a guest worship leader.
There’s also another opportunity to learn more about musical worship at St Philip’s Church, Salford, on Saturday 28th April. Please see the back page of the current Elmwood Family News for further details.
As we often sing,
“Come, now is the time to worship.
Come, now is the time to give your heart”
