The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity and has been present since the beginning. He came to live in Christians on the day of Pentecost, as predicted by Jesus,

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. . .” John 14:6

The Holy Spirit is a person equal in every way with God the Father and God the Son. Jesus said to His apostles,

“. . . Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching to observe all that I commanded you . . .” Matthew 28:18-20

When we become a Christian, God lives in us through the Holy Spirit. He has intellect, emotions and will, and yet we don’t spend as much time looking at His character as we do for the Father and Jesus.

Holy Spirit Day at Elmwood
Saturday 10th March 9.30am – 4pm

As part of our Whole Church Alpha Course, this is a day to learn about the Holy Spirit. We will be joined by David and Mairisine Stanfield, pastors of a church in Northern Ireland, who have vast experience in teaching on this topic.

During the day we will find out what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit and also have the opportunity to pray together to receive Him and to hear from God through Him.

Please book in

Please let your Alpha group leader know if you are coming. If you’d like to come, but are not involved in Alpha, just put your name down at reception.

Can’t make the Saturday?

We are putting on a shortened, catch up session on the afternoon of Sunday 11th March.
We look forward to what God will do on the weekend.
