In this series we will start by looking at people who worshipped and what we can learn from them and their experiences of whole life worship. We will then follow on from looking at David and his worship to look at some of the Psalms and the worship contained and expressed within them, with the aim of applying what we learn into the whole of our lives.

Part 1: The Magi Come to Worship

The Magi had a passion to worship the Christ Child which affected the whole of their lives. They travelled a long distance, they brought precious gifts, they even went against the will of an earthly king . They were whole life worshippers and in this sermon we will learn a number of things from them and their experiences.

Part 2: Mary Anoints Jesus

Mary was a lady who knew Jesus well and had a passion to worship and honour Him with all she had. She took a precious and expensive pint of perfume and poured it on the feet of Jesus in an act of worship and honouring of Him. The fragrance of the perfume would fill the room and so would people’s opinions on what she had done. Here Mary will show us the importance of our whole life being an act of worship.

Part 3: King David a Man of Worship

In this story we see King David a man of position and influence who was not afraid to worship God in a passionate way in full view of his people. His worship of God was not affected by what people might think. Here we will learn more of how and why we should express our worship.

Part 6: Worship the Lord with a “New song”

A Psalm with Gladness, Joy and Thanksgiving at the heart of the way it leads us in the worship of God. This is a truly uplifting Psalm. As we look at this Psalm we will learn how to apply these three words into our whole lives of worship.

Part 8: A Psalm of Ascent (Psalm 132)

It is believed the Psalms of Ascent title indicates that these Psalms were sung by worshippers as they ascended the road to Jerusalem to attend the three pilgrim festivals (Deuteronomy 16:16). There was a real sense of excitement and anticipation as these songs were sung. Here we have a Psalm of reflection and celebration of David’s life of worship and relationship with God and some of the promises that came out of that.

Part 9: A Psalm of Ascent (Psalm 134)

A call to Praise as we come together in the House of the Lord. Here we are encouraged to come together and Praise Him with our hands lifted up in the sanctuary. As well as worshiping in all other aspects of our lives we must not stop coming together to worship and praise Him; here we are challenged and encouraged to do this.

Part 10: A Psalm of Praise (Psalm 145)

Here in this Psalm of Praise we are told how one generation commends His works to another; and also tells of His mighty acts. Here we can find out how to speak out His praises and in doing so inspire and encourage others to do the same in every area of their lives, so our whole lives are full of worship and praise of Him.
