It’s that time of the year when the nights are drawing in and it can feel dark and gloomy. But what happens if you turn a lamp on in a completely dark room – the darkness disappears.

Jesus said, “YOU are the light of the world. A town built on a hill can’t be hidden! People don’t light a lamp then put it under a bowl! Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone around. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven”.

At a time of uncertainty and change we need to be a light to those around us, our friends, family, neighbours and strangers – wherever they are from. They need to see something different in us that makes them ask the question “Why?” and gives us an opportunity to give the reason for our hope. It doesn’t take much light to make a big difference so get out and get shining!
