“Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father …” as the famous hymn starts. As a fellowship we have been praying and trusting God that He will bring the right person to be Senior Leader at Elmwood, at the right time.

Following a thorough selection process involving many from the fellowship alongside fasting, praying and listening to God – the Trustees, along with the Leadership Team, believe Chris Mellor is the right person for the role and we are thankful to God for His faithfulness.

At the Members Meeting on Monday 16th July 2018, the members overwhelmingly approved the recommendation to appoint Chris Mellor as our Senior Leader and Chris has accepted. He is ready for a new challenge and is really looking forward to working with us. Along with his wife Fi, they cannot wait to see what God has in store for the Elmwood family.

Over the past year we have asked the fellowship for words and pictures and this is the verse that has come up time and again: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

Prior to the members meeting we were also given this verse: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

We believe this is a new chapter for Elmwood as we truly seek to grow Deeper, Closer and Further through Him. Let us remember His faithfulness in getting us here.
