Who are we?
Fusion is a group of 18 to early 30s who attend Elmwood or other local churches. We come in all shapes and sizes: married, single, students, local, new to Salford, new Christians and those who have been Christians for many years.
We meet every 3 weeks for a Sunday Lunch hosted by various church members. We like to bring the drinks and dessert (we have some very talented bakers among our number!). Most Sunday lunches end up with some sort of game together. We also occasionally meet for socials such as bowling, mini golf and DVD nights. For many of us the highlights of the Fusion calendar are the weekends away. One weekend is spent at a country cottage in winter/spring and the brave then have a camping weekend during the summer (although we only managed one night this year due to flooding!!).
Fusion enables young adults to encourage and share with each other. Praying and reading the Bible together are part of each Sunday lunch and weekend away. Members take it in turns to facilitate discussions on subjects that are relevant to our lives. We’ve seen friendships develop and many prayers answered.
We think it is really important to remain involved in other areas of Elmwood; to serve with, support and learn from people of different ages. Many Fusion members are also involved in homegroups, youth work, children’s work and the worship group.
Some of the things our members love….
- Getting to know people better and making new friends
- Developing really honest and caring relationships
- Hanging out with people my own age, building memories
- KUBB (a large outdoor game that involves knocking over big wooden blocks!) and Jungle Speed (don’t ask!!!)
