ambassadorsAmbassadors Football

Elmwood member David Oakley is the chief executive of Ambassadors Football, Mark Williams oversees its football schools in Britain, Sally Prentice is finance director and her husband Mark provides IT and admin support services.

The organisation grew out of Ambassadors in Sport, founded in 1990 in Bolton, UK, and became an international outreach programme working in more than 20 countries. Ambassadors exists to communicate the good news of Jesus through football, aiming to transform individuals and communities through football outreach, running holistic football programmes, investing in churches, coaches, players and participants with their football outreach initiatives. The British work of Ambassadors is one of about 25 similar national charitable ongoing works around the world that are joined by an international covenant of agreement under the banner of Ambassadors Football International. During 2013 in Britain, almost 1,000 participants a week benefit from its programmes, another 6,000 attended Ambassadors events and up to 100 volunteers help out through the year.
